Cornish Lithium on Track to Produce Clean Lithium for UK Auto Market
Cornish Lithium is advancing its Hard Rock project in Cornwall, with plans to produce clean lithium for the UK automotive market by 2026. The project focuses on extracting lithium from mica in granite, with drilling campaigns and a recent scoping study demonstrating strong returns. The site is supported by existing infrastructure, including a nearby processing facility, and is now progressing to the feasibility stage.
Founder and CEO Jeremy Wrathall states, “Using existing infrastructure gives us a major advantage in moving quickly towards production.” This project aims to be the first commercial lithium production in the UK, contributing to the country’s growing battery mineral supply chain.
