DOMINANCE Act to build overseas critical minerals

Paul Harris
Guest columnist

The US House of Representatives passed legislation to reduce Chinese control of critical minerals and build more resilient supply chains.

The Developing Overseas Investment and New Allied Networks for Critical Energies (DOMINANCE) Act aims to expand cooperation with US allies and partners, support strategic mineral and energy investments, and strengthen US diplomacy to build resilient mineral supply chains. The bill includes creating the Office of Energy Security Pacts at the US State Department to support investments abroad, and the establishment of a Bureau of Energy Security and Diplomacy to coordinate policy across federal agencies and international partners. The Bill was advanced to the Senate and referred to the Committee on Foreign Relations.
