Landmark BC, first nation agreement
Skeena Resources (NYSE/TSX:SKE) received an environmental assessment certificate (EAC) for its Eskay Creek Au-Ag project in BC which was approved under the Federal Impact Assessment Act and by the Tahltan Central Government.
The Tahltan Nation’s consent to the project is embedded within the EAC, marking an historic first under a landmark Section 7 agreement signed in 2022 between the BC Government and Tahltan Central Government. “This is a defining moment in our Company’s history. … The issuance of the EAC reflects this collaboration and reinforces Eskay Creek’s position as setting the standard for responsible, world-class development in British Columbia,” said CEO Randy Reichert.
